In the spirit of student safety, parental choice and wise policy, the Central Minnesota Chrisitan School Board has adopted the following policy regarding students riding school-provided transportation to or from extra-curricular events.
It is the policy of the school that students must ride to and from extra-curricular events in school-provided transportation (bus or school car). If the event involves school-arranged volunteers who drive students to or from the game, then these non-school owned vehicles are covered by the vehicle owner and then by the school policy. The Board of Central Minnesota Christian School has adopted this policy effective November 12, 2001:
- Coaches shall be responsible for all team members to/from each game.
- A student may ride home from the game or event with a parent or with another person designated by the parent as per a parent-signed permission slip.
- The coach or event sponsor must keep this permission slip on file and one must be made out for each game or event.
- If a student violates this policy, he/she shall be suspended from the athletic team for one game or from participation in a special event for one time.
- The parent must provide a signed letter granting permission for the student to ride home with a parent or with another person designated by the parent.
- A verbal statement that "my kid is coming home with me" is not sufficient. There must be a parent-signed slip for each date.
